What is an S&P trap?

An S&P trap is an adjustable waste trap that can help suit either S-trap or P-trap style plumbing configurations. This makes it useful where the waste outlet does not line up neatly with a standard fixed trap.

What does the air admittance valve do?

An air admittance valve, often called an AAV, allows air into the waste system when required. This can help reduce siphoning of the water seal in the trap. The water seal helps prevent drain odours from coming back through the sink or basin waste.

Choosing the right size

  • Choose 40mm for many vanity, basin and smaller under-sink waste applications.
  • Choose 50mm for larger sink, kitchen, laundry or 50mm waste applications.
  • Always check the existing pipe size and installation requirements before ordering.

Before you buy

  • Measure the waste pipe size.
  • Confirm whether your installation needs 40mm or 50mm.
  • Check whether an air admittance valve is required.
  • Confirm available space under the sink, vanity or laundry tub.
  • Use a licensed plumber where required by local plumbing regulations.
